Select one scientific
concept [or idea or project] in Physics. Select the major scientist who played
an important role in discovering the concept.
Discuss:
What, if any, is the
connection between your chosen project and the scientific method?
What, if any, hypothesis was
being tested?
How does this concept fit in
the existing body of knowledge?
This assignment includes
(1) a 800 – 1000 word
paper with a minimum of three references done on a word processor and submitted
both in digital form and on paper
and
(2) be prepared to give a
5-minute presentation to summarize your paper to the class. The assignment is
due in the last week of class before final exams.
This is a formal research paper, which includes in text
citation and a reference page.
Decide on your topic for
your Physics Research Paper and Presentation Project.
Make certain that the topic of
choice has enough information available. Create a short topic description for
your instructorÕs approval by identifying what this topic is and indicate its
relevance to Physics. On December 3rd submit the topic of choice for
the instructorÕs approval and feedback.
Use either the American Psychological Association (APA)
style or the Modern Language Association (MLA) Style for your paper. To submit
the your paper in digital format you may attach the paper to an email to Dr.
Hubbell at uhigh@mac.com. See Dr. Hubbell for
help with this email if you need it.
